Man that sounds like the ticket. I think I'm gonna start by hitting the outlets one night. Are there people fishing there every night?

Some nights you can be the only one there, other times you'll encounter a few. In the fall during the brown run there can be alot of people

I ran up the chute behind the island on the same side as the ramp a couple weeks ago. Got a little over half way up, and noticed freshly downed trees almost if not completely across, and a couple feet above the water. Didn't want to chance "threading" the Gator through them, so I drifted back down fishing my way out. Started catching some really nice rainbows where the chute widens out to a big flat on the lower end. I could hold in the eddy without much use of the trolling motor, and cast to the deeper, swifter water. 3/32 oz Sculpin/olive/olive head jigs, ginger/olive/orange head 1/80oz jigs with #18 midge trailer fished under a float. White, or whie/pink 1/8 and 3/32 oz jigs all worked at various times during the three days I fished there. Four units were running most of the time. When they cut back on the third day, it seemed they moved out, or got lockjaw! Kinda thinking the latter, because after no success in the mouth of the chute, I drifted jigs, and San Juan worm/ scud combinations with no success at all. Earlier that day, below Fall Creek, drifting night crawlers on a drift rig was working quite well. So I just continued drifting the artificials after I was out of the restricted area. Still nothing.

I'm glad that I read this topic. You guys shared a lot of good information. I have a couple of pontoons and have wondered the same. That's what I like about this forum. Lots of people willing to give good advice. Thanks!

Wading, floating or boating... I think I'd do the first runs during the day.

I plain on keeping my feet on the ground at night. I'm lined up to hit it next week one night. If anyone in the nwa area wants to ride with let me know.
