slab slinger Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Should be that time of year. Has anyone seen any surfacing whites anywhere on the lake? Headed to the lake this weekend with the wife for our anniversary and am trying to put her on some fish. Gonna give the crappie a shot even though it'll prob be slow. Can't help it That's my favorite fish. Haha. Need a back up plan. I was thinking whites or just trolling for whatever's hungry. Thanks guys.
PHhunter Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Was at the Masters Island Friday. No action whatsoever. Shad everywhere. weird. slab slinger 1
slab slinger Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 Well dang it. They should be boiling on the flats loaded with shad fry. Weird guess the high water has everything messed up. Thanks for info.
Terrierman Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I played with the family Sunday on the pontoon. Out of Mutton Creek. Saw a lot of fish - not shad - on the lowrance in a couple of coves on the State Park side of the lake. There were two places where whites or something had a wad of bait on top working through them. slab slinger 1
slab slinger Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 Thanks for info maybe there's hope of finding some scrappy whites for the wife. They usually gorge on brook silverside minnows in the large creek arm coves this time of year. Sounds like I'll have to do some graph work to find them in the shad balls.
Aggressor1988long Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Guys came in the ramp Tuesday evening with alot of white bass, was up towards maze creek slab slinger 1
Skeeter ZX190 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Wednesday afternoon and evening we saw hardly any surface activity. Only saw maybe 5 blowups and it was one or two fish hitting some shad once, and then they were gone. Not sure if they were bass or white bass. bassmandoc and slab slinger 2
Smithvillesteve Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 There was a guy cleaning some white bass last week at Mutton Creek. Claimed he was trolling spinners in shallow water. Less than 10 ft. slab slinger 1
