Members Chef of the Sea
Deciding to call the NWS forecast, I Floated rock house to trigger gap Tuesday morning. Gorgeous cool morning and only saw 4 other people. Had to drag a couple times but not worth complaining about. Also a couple of trees that were down you had to maneuver around. Great fishing, almost every hole below the rapid was good for 3-4 small smallmouth and good sized Ozark bass. First time getting on them. The shuttle service was nice and the level was ok. One of my new favorite floats. Couldn't keep the mini bream off my fly so wound up using 4"small plastics. Flukes seemed to work best
PigSooner
Guessing this was 7-20, or a delayed report Floated the river for the first time over the weekend- Marbel to Marshall really enjoyed it (other than its way to much to fish in one day). I went back Sunday and talked to kings river outfitters about their services, went to Rockhouse and waded until the crowds became too much. Saw lots of good fish, but they were real spooky. I plan on going back with the FlyRod one evening during the week when the traffic is lighter.
Members Chef of the Sea
Yikes. Don't even know what month it is. Super nice float and you pretty much have the river to yourself on the weekdays I've been

Members Chef of the Sea
Kings river outfitters. $25. They drive your truck back to a private property parking lot/campground so you can take your time

Members Chef of the Sea
This needs to be copied and pasted on all of the river threads on here. People need to remember that anyone with internet (which pretty much means anyone) can read this. If you found a nice quiet stretch of river, why tell everone about it? Maybe consideration of the people who bust their tails running shuttles at kings river outfitters, lost valley canoe, spider creek, and every other small business on rivers have mouths to feed. Members Slowtime
I get the whole keep it quiet concept. But are there really that many stretches of water left that are true secrets? We mainly talk about Kings, Buffalo, Crooked Creek, and a few others. Many on here have been on almost every mile of each of these waters, not many honey holes yet to be discovered. I enjoy a decent report (good or bad) from others. Be as vague as you wish. In this case, the OP was fairly specific, but most know that's the main milk run of the local outfitter. No stretch gets floated more or fished harder. Many of those complaining the loudest are the very ones that also say they are eagerly looking forward to a trip report.
