wareaglecamo Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I live in Springfield and usually fish Stockton or Table Rock . . . I'm looking for a bait shop or elsewhere to buy live crickets on my way to either lake . . . any advice on availability of live crickets in Springfield or in route to either lake would be very much appreciated . . . also any suggestions on preferred way to rig would be great:)
Dirtracer35 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I remember as a kid a bait shop having them. But for the life of me can't remember where it was. Also used to buy crickets for a pet tarantula from pet stores. You could call around town and price them.
Members Olelund Posted July 27, 2015 Members Posted July 27, 2015 Other than Bluegill and an occasional drum, what do you catch on crickets? Net Man

slab slinger Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Some Wal-Mart's are carrying them now. I know the one in Republic does for sure. I just catch them at night around the house with the kids using a flashlight, they love it. I rig a cricket under the collar with a #6 gold aberdeen hook. This doesn't kill them if done right and let's them do their thing. I have caught big bull gills, crappie, bass, catfish, and even a few carp on crickets. Great live bait love fishing crickets with the kids.
