Dewayne French Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Got out for a little River action Wednesday afternoon, only went from 2-5 pm, but had a great afternoon with a buddy. We caught around 6-SMB, 7-LMB, 8-Shadow/Rock Bass, and several Green sunfish. It made for a fast action trip we caught all our fish around the Spring River Oaks area on plastic's by a local guy at Jennybug's baits in Thayer, Mo... Tried a topwater but no takers; to early in the afternoon my guess so we just bottom hoped plastic's. In the shade out of the fast current normal eddy type areas! Nothing mind blowing just normal river fishing 101.. River is cleaning up nice and finally getting fishable.
Terrierman Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Thanks, I have never fished down there but it's on my list. jbooth24 1
Dewayne French Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 Very good to have in my back yard... This time of the year it is not weekend friendly river fishing if you know where I'm coming from. Very active especially from the Dam three Jim Hinkle Access area south. But I tried a mid week trip and it wasn't totally out, but still several others around.
Members Paparock Posted December 29, 2016 Members Posted December 29, 2016 You might try the South Fork of the Spring River and Myatt Creek for some great Smallmouth bass fishing. They can both be accessed via highway 289 south out of Mammoth Springs.
