rainbow Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 We were at Truman from Sunday to Thursday. Put the boat in at state park marina and my water pump was only putting about 20% of what it should be so back on the trailer after talking to an outboard mechanic buddy. He said water pumps are a lot cheaper than motors. Kind of a downer on the first full day of the trip. Tuesday went below the dam and the whites were on fire. You could catch all you wanted in a very short time. Quite a few people there in the evenings but only a few in the morning. More than limited both days but only kept ten each day. Here's a pic that isn't real clear but you can see the fillet knife in the top right hand corner. So the trip turned out pretty good after all. Can't wait to get to Taney in a few weeks BilletHead and slab slinger 2
brian prewitt75 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I was down there Sunday morning and never had a bite. There were a few chasing shad but were clear out in the center of the river, no way to reach them. Glad to see you had a good time and caught some fish. Spoony Slayr
rainbow Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 You might reach them with a one oz spoon on a bait caster when they are out far. If you can get close to the area you'll get some on the fringe. Saw a guy doing that when the rest of were catching them not far off the bank. His fish from the middle were bigger.
