Travis Swift Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Stupid question but since I read the article on Tablerock basically not being able to support aquatic life below 20 feet of water because of no oxygen how is that going to effect Taney? I presume the water going thru the generators at the dam is from close to the bottom of Tablerock so I would assume there's no oxygen in it since the thermocline is 20 feet on the Rock. I know Taney gets low on oxygen this time of year anyhow. So my stupid question is, how does no oxygen on the rock affect taney if at all?
Fishin Hodge Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 The little to no oxygen below 20 feet on Table Rock isn't the whole lake, it is in pockets. Most of the issues are occurring a good distance from the dam, so I would think Taney should be OK.
Gatorjet Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Quick answer....They inject oxygen into the water being released into Taneycomo when the level is too low. Here's a OA article from a few years ago. http://www.ozarkanglers.com/lake-taneycomo/2011/12/01/table-rock-lake-is-turning-over/ Real men go propless!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 18, 2015 Root Admin Posted August 18, 2015 There may be separation on the lower lake but I doubt it. But it won't have anything to do with Table Rock. It's a whole different animal.
