Blll Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Such a drop dead gorgeous afternoon, had to get out. 4pm-7pm. Rt 12 area. wt 84. Something was feeding in Bear cove for about 5 minutes. Big wakes and splashes. Threw a rouge but no action. Trolled the islands and got a Beaver Lake mix. 1 spot, 1 walleye, 1 baby striper, 1 white bass and as I was reeling in to go in, a 30" gar hit the Flcker shad at the boat. Good fight, several jumps and an easy release. Very few pleasure craft out, several fisherman. Beautiful evening to be out. Nice not to sweat. rps, Lance34 and J-Doc 3
Sore Thumbs Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I fished last night and had a good time. Caught a bunch of short fish on drop shot. Even caught a Walleye with it. Ha. Tried short leader drop shot after dark with a Zoom Mag 2 worm and caught a few that way too. It got a little chilly out there. Thanks for report.
Dan the fisherman Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Yup yup. That sounds about what I've been doing (minus the walleye). I was out that morning from 10am-2 and did about the same. Fish r like people, they enjoy nice temps. Lol. Thanks for the report though. How big was the wallie?
Dan the fisherman Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I have not caught a keeper walleye this year. I usually bag about 10 good keepers a year but have not this year. But, then again, I don't really target them.
jolicious Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Launched out of 412and ran to Neill's Bluff yesterday (8-20-15) from 3:30pm - 6:30pm. Saw a few good sized bass come out of the muck right in front of bushes in 3' or so, but couldn't get them to chase a frog or stick bait or fluke or wacky worm or buzz bait or spinner bait or - well, you get the idea.... I saw the fish, they were bass. 86° was the average temp
RyanG Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I have had a few of those days myself here recently where it seems they just know I am there and wanna show a little side to make me go crazy. Haha. Nice to see the temps coming down though.
