bwcballer10 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I've been a couple times this week and hooked up with some whites. Took the canoe below Orleans Sunday afternoon and fished for a couple of hours, ended up with 15 whites between four of us. Watched some trollers catch fish after fish. So a buddy and I went back Wednesday night and tried some trolling for a couple of hours. Found the fish in SHALLOW water. We tried trolling with a little bit of everything roostertails, rattle-traps, and swimming minnows (shad colored). The swimming minnows seemed to be the best but that may have just been because they were the only thing we could keep off the bottom in the shallow water.
trythisonemv Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Nice I haven't been up there at all this summer. Glad to hear you got into some !
vonreed Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Wow, great report. I sure wish I lived a little closer. I'd sure like some white bass to eat, but they're hard for me to get since my boat motor crapped out on me this spring. I bet you had a blast catching whites in shallow water like that.
bwcballer10 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 I think I could catch white bass all day long every day and it would still be exciting everytime I hooked into another one. They are such a blast to catch... and they are pretty good eating too!
