M_Taylor Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Based off the fact that Beaver was covered up with boats going super fast and sometimes fishing for bass today, I went elsewhere. I took the fly rod to a small stream and went back to the basics. Ended up having an awesome day with the smallies. If you are reading this you should probably stop and go enjoy the nice weather somewhere. Green236, Lance34, Champ188 and 2 others 5
J-Doc Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I love the tiger striped smallmouth. Those are always my favorite. Actually, Beaver was REALLY quiet compared to previous weeks. I had an appointment at 1 so I only got out for a few hours this morning looking for crappie. I've got a good spot, but I haven't figured them out yet. I've only gotten a few out of there but there are some good ones there. I saw only two ski boats up until about 12 and one was on the trailer headed to the lake. And I really didn't see that many bass boats running around. Everyone was grinding it out. Simply put.....it was awesome. Fog on the water. Crisp cool air. Great weather. Barometric pressure was falling at daybreak (then it rose throughout the day later) And I do love a boat ride early on a crisp cool morning. I also love being able to run from PC to Monte Ne and only use 4-5 gallons of fuel including some trolling time. The lake is ours again fellas. Go fishing! :-) Lance34 1 Need marine repair? J-Doc Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Wanted. Information leading to the capture of wanted criminals of mischief and bad behavior (bad because they won't eat my crappie jigs) If anyone finds these elusive critters, let me know. Lol!! cpriest 1 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Members showmebass Posted September 13, 2015 Members Posted September 13, 2015 The crappie are deep and they are hungry. I've been on a really good bite the last couple of weeks.
Dan the fisherman Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I love stream small mouth. I float 100+ miles every year chasing them. Great pics too. I actually have one last float planned for October! M_Taylor 1
M_Taylor Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 It's hard to beat those Ozark native smallmouth. And frankly, sight casting to a 14" smallie is more excitement than I've had on Beaver lately. Nexg thing on the agenda, hook up on a big striper this fall with the fly rod.
J-Doc Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I can help with that ;-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
