straw hat Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Last month I posted some information from the Corp on Stockton's dissolved oxygen (DO) and thermocline depth from July. I promised that when Aug results were posted I would let you know what they are. You will note that has the heat continued the oxygen levels in the upper layers dropped and the thermocline raised closer to the surface. I wish I could tell you the locations of these samples but they no longer are available on the locations map except SM 7 which is the 245 bridge. Aug 3rd Depth D.O. July 13 SM 3 Surface 6.9 ppm 5.58 ppm 24 ft 2.45 ppm Thermocline 2.02 ppm (18 ft) SM 8 Surface 7.1 ppm 8.89 ppm 12 ft 1.17 ppm Thermocline 1.65 ppm (21 ft) SM 7 Surface 7.3 ppm 8.77 ppm 12 ft 2.43 ppm Thermocline 1.05 ppm (18 ft) SM 14 Surface 8.22 ppm 8.85 ppm 15 ft 0.29 ppm Thermocline 2.08 ppm (18 ft) zarraspook 1
MOPanfisher Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Did they change the location numbers? Those numbers correspond with Smithville Lake, http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Locations/WaterQuality.aspx
straw hat Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 No, if you check many of the lakes on the list have the same sampling point codes.
MOPanfisher Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 we must not be looking at the same list/map then, because on the link from teh COE site I posted each location has a separate identifiable code. Stockton is all ST, Smithville is SM, Pomme is PT etc. ST-7 is the 245 Bridge on Stockton, SM 7 is at the eastern W bridge on Smithville, PT 7 is at the tower on Pomme. I just popped over to the linked site to look again, they have inadvertently copied Smithville info onto the Stockton site, I will see if I can get that corrected.
straw hat Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 All I can say is you are right MOP. The data I posted is correct but the site prefixes should be ST, NOT Sm. So sorry for the confusion.
MOPanfisher Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 It appears to be a simply adminstrative error someone made when copying the data over. SM and ST are easily to get mixed up, Pomme (PT) gets mixed up with Pomona (PO) often enough. It happens. I have notified them and if it doesn't get fixed let me know and I will follow up on it. straw hat 1
