Members line wetter Posted October 8, 2015 Members Posted October 8, 2015 Went up to Stockton yesterday/ Like most on this site my summer of crappie fishing has been less than stellar. yesterday I found some. High Popint area along the bluffs witht the brushpiles in 20 FOW. Caught a limit in about three hours. Nothing big just good solid keepers. Minnows and jigs. Caught a bunch of 6 to 8 inch bass also on the minnows. the crappie were IN the brush piles. had to drop down into the brush pile then slow reel up about two feet. If not a hit then drop back down and do it again. This was from noon to about 3:00 pm. early and late they may not be as tight inĀ the brush plie. 10 keepers from one pile and the other 5 off another one. Going to be a good supper the next two nights at this house. Jig color was chartruese. Has about 10 shorts. BilletHead, Kramr, Bassmod and 2 others 5
Kramr Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Excellent! About what depth were the crappie holding? 5 - 10 fow?
J.M. Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Good job I fished the area caught about 30 without a keeper.
Members line wetter Posted October 9, 2015 Author Members Posted October 9, 2015 depth of the fish were about 17 to 18 feet ringht ion the brush piles which were in 20 feet of water. To J.M. yes I've been catching a lot of shorts this summer. maybe the key was actually fishing in the brush and not over top of it. Or I was just lucky which I i will tkae any day.
J.M. Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 your right most fish were on top of the brush thank for the info,
