merc1997 Bo Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 did a little fishing monday afternoon. went over to cape fair to look for new areas that the bass are gathering in. only found one place with what i was looking for, and it did not seem to have many keepers. upstream from cape fair, there were shad any and everywhere. so many that it is easy to see why catching anything is difficult. a bass could merely swim around with its mouth open anywhere and be full in about two seconds. i also could tell that these warmer days has moved the bass once again. like i have stated before, fall fishing is somewhat like april fishing. the bass are constantly on the move and can change from day to day. it is a new hunting trip everytime out. as water temps drop, there will be a bit more consistent pattern and movement will become easier to predict. warm as it is going to be for a few days, i am thinking about getting back out at night. bo
Champ188 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Dang sure ready for the cool weather to set in. For me, the good fall fishing doesn't get going until we've had a couple of frosts.
Sore Thumbs Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I fished out of Holiday Island for about 4-5 hrs on Sunday morning. I guess the topwater bite was already gone. I tried for a while with a few swipes but no bites. I could see bait and fish all over my graph but couldn't get bit on a drop shot til the sun got high. I tried more natural colors but they weren't producing much so I switched to a dark bluish/purple color and finally started catching fish. Caught about 10-15 with by best being the only LM I caught for about 2-2.5 lbs. the rest were KY. Had to get home to watch Chiefs and Royals lose so I left around 11:45. marcus 1
