J-Doc Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I have two boxes dedicated to trolling baits. The Flickers box is dedicated strictly to Flickers. I read others having luck with colors I don't use. When I try them, I don't have their luck so experimentation is key. Find what works for you and build on it. And if you think you're going to hook a striper, change the hooks. Factory hooks bend easily. I pulled both hooks on a 35lb bruiser earlier this summer after 15mins of fighting it on a spinning rod on 6lb line. It was a blast. Till it got away. I saw it 3 times too so I know it was a good one. Ham and Green236 2 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! Stump bumper Posted October 21, 2015 Author Posted October 21, 2015 Thanks for the tip on the hooks, picked up a couple of 9s in racy shad this morning thinking they looked like good stripper lures. Picked up some flicker minnows also, total was around $40 and still think I need more....
jerry241 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 You can never have too many Lance34 and Ham 2
Stump bumper Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 You can never have too many More tackle means a bigger boat, that means a bigger truck, that means a bigger house with a bigger garage to keep the boat and tackle in....this could get expensive. Lance34 and Dan the fisherman 2

Tell me about it. I got a new boat last July. New full sized truck last month. And my tackle collection gets bigger and my rod locker can only contain so many rods. I find myself packing per trip only for what I need that day. It's a vicious cycle. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! jerry241 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Wish I had a rod locker.... Having to get creative about carrying rods this year the ol lowe kinda looks like a porcupine.
Members Green236 Posted October 24, 2015 Members Posted October 24, 2015 I like slick mouse and uncle Rico in #7 for most of the year. I also change all the hooks to gamagatsu #4 round bend treble hooks. #12 lb fluorocarbon.
Dan the fisherman Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I'm just itching to get out there. Darn boat is broke? Ahhhhhhhhh!!
JF660R Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I have the most luck with the one that has little purple on it. Similarly my buddy usually runs the Rapala that has a little purple. It also seems to be harder to find, which tends to be a good sign. Haven't been able to try the fire tiger. The one I bought loops in circles, which is ..... frustrating. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nocturnal-FabWorx/346443168872812 Like Nocturnal FabWorx on Facebook
