mic Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I made it out to Mill Creek on Saturday, and it just isn't the same. The water is so low and gin clear there just isn't much space of any kind to hide fish from predators. My trips before there was iffy water were you catch some small ones, but some good holes with colored water that you really took your time to fish. Now with the exception of a couple of large tree balls in the creek, nothing that I saw. At least at BSC the runs are only a few feet apart so they go deep. At Mill they are 20 feet apart and no real deep water. I'll be back some day, but not for a while.
MaxDrown Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 That is very disappointing to hear. I love that little creek. -- Max Drown
Eric82 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 dang. sad to hear... i'm still gonna try it later this week. If i might ask though did you fish at Bohigian? thanks!
mic Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Yea... I went from the main parking lot downstream on the path probably a half a mile. I fished upstream and tried to make it to the spring influx hoping for better water, but I knew I was in trouble when my daughter started making sand castles instead of fishing. I probably made it a 1/4 mile or more upstream of the drainage creek before giving up. Let us know if you had better luck then me.
Eric82 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 will do. Gonna shoot for thursday and since gonna rain wednesday hopefully it will add a little flow and at the very least some color but being my first time giving mill a try i dont have much expectations either way just excited to give it a try. thanks man!!!
mic Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 You may try parking near the low water bridge and working downstream. I'm hoping for the fish and you, there is better water above where I quit.
Eric82 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 hey there are you referring to the low water bridge upstream from bohigian? i was at feathercraft on saturday and they said to try down by the mill creek rec area. i think thats downstream of bohigian... Also did you happen to pull any fish outta spring creek? you said some good water near the J bridge? still trying to find where i can park and whats considered "public" etc... thanks again.
mic Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Yes. I was. Bohigian is the only place I tried. I didn't fish Spring Creek. Just got out and looked at it. It was bigger then I expected that is why I was curious about upstream from there.
Sharps4590 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Eric, don't know if you're off to Mill this morning but if you are, we received precious little rain here yesterday. Certainly there will be no increase in flow or color. I haven't been over Mill in a while but I'm not surprised to hear it's so low. We went over two months with no measureable precipitation down here. I'd rather live my entire life, living as if there is a God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there isn't, than to live my entire life as if there is no God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there is.
