Dan the fisherman Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I headed out this morning about 9. It was super foggy on the lake. Water temp was 52. So I set my lines out and proceeded to troll. I messed about for a couple of hours without a bite. Finally as I began to get lines in to move spots a rod goes off. I have my first bite. I let it run for 10 sec or so and pick up the rod for the fight. I have a smile ear to ear and then it quickly turns to a frown. It pops off. Didn't break the line, it just came off the hook (which never has happened). That was a sign of things " not to come" as I couldn't buy another bite the rest of the day. I tried 3 other spots with nothing. It was a tough day for me. That's fishing though. I'm going to try again tomorrow or Wednesday. Hopefully I can get some pay back on them striper the next trip.
cheesemaster Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Sounds like a tuff day - but I bet its still better than being at worrk.
Dan the fisherman Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 It was a nice day. So can't complain. Just gotta take the good days with the bad
Members Jack Perdew Posted December 8, 2015 Members Posted December 8, 2015 I started about 11 went to HB bluff. Set to lines out 30 min later got first hit but no hookup I think the planner board was to tight so she spit the hook. About an hr later got a good hook set on a 12 lb Seen large bait ball the were working the edges but no other takers I will be out again I the morning
