Ben Gillispie Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 We are all likely aware of the rain events that are occurring at this moment. These will have a significant impact on water temperatures, among other things. These temps are likely lower as of this post, the water coming down from the James and elsewhere is cool, 40 to 50 degrees, and all water is moving towards the Dam. All 10 gates are open and all 4 generators. Corps expects very high discharges tomorrow. Realtime monitoring is coming this Spring, but this will have to do for now. Managed to get six readings today. I have also added these to the Map on TableRockTemperatures.com. I have also started to put them in a new 'Quick Glance' chart in case anyone would prefer it, you can get to in the navigation menu on my site, or check it out here. Finally, added a few pictures of Cape Fair today around noon. Nasty mess out there! New Water Temps 12-27-2015 Indian Point Marina: 55.1 Cape Fair Marina: 50.1 Hideaway Marina: 54.1 High and Dry (Port of Kimberling): 54.6 Baxter Boat Dock: 53.6 Kings River Marina: 47.8 Other areas I went to take readings on in the creek arms were just nasty. While we are all thinking of how this will affect fishing and I think that is good, also remember there are other effects, the guy who runs this forum for one. This typically peaceful water that brings us all so much enjoyment can also be destructive. Don't forget about those of us affected by these events BearFisher10 1

wareaglecamo Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 you're information and photos are more-appreciated than you could ever imagine . . . especially in extreme times like now . . . I would nominate you for the "CONTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR" award if OAF had such an annual recognition . . . I think you would be right up there with Bill Babler? Champ188 and Ben Gillispie 2
