Phone changed my text. 50ish. Not 55ish. Sorry.   So what was winning weight? Anyone know what and on what baits? Guessing crankbaits and jigs.  Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Champ188 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I was in 50-52 degrees all day in the dam area.
J-Doc Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 I could see that pretty easily.  Water clearer up there I bet? Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! Mike jones Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Heard it took 14lbs to win and 8th place was around 12lbs. We went to Sweepco..it was tough!!

Stump bumper Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Anyone get the story from the winning team? Were they up in the flooded brush ? Clean water or dirty? How many people were at the ramp staring at bent or broken props wondering what they hit?
Mike jones Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Lol..it was pretty bad for most boats. But there was a boat that found a little sweet spot. We saw them catch 6 or 7 with half of those around 3 pounds...and they were sitting about 30 yards from us! Â
Stump bumper Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Ok, now I have it. I read this wrong and thought only you went to Swepco but now I see the Polar Bear went to Swepco. Never mind
Champ188 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I know the guys well who won it. J.R. Beehler (who now lives in Wichita) and Ricky Searcy who owns Bella Vista Marine. They had 14 pounds and change. Don't know how or where they won it and if you asked them they wouldn't tell you anyway. At least one 11-pound bag was caught flipping bushes, but I doubt that's how J.R. fished. That's just not his usual game. As for debris, my partner and I traveled from PC to the dam and the back of Indian Creek and back and only came across half a dozen significant pieces of debris. Mudline was around the mouth of Rambo. For the most part, it's pretty safe out there. At least in the lower half of the lake. May be a different story above the bridge but right now, I doubt anyone can even get under the bridge.
