Fishingmill Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Anyone know how Maramec Springs looks? I was thinking of taking a trip down there just to see how it looks, but don't want to waste my time if the park isn't even open. instagram.com/fishingmill twitter.com/Fishingmill vimeo.com/fishingmill
Justin92297 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I was planning on going down saturday but I don't know if it's open or not. It looks like the river at cooks station never flooded too bad so I was thinking it might be fishable by then
mic Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Ron posted on his Facebook page that water is back to a normal high.
Fishingmill Posted January 1, 2016 Author Posted January 1, 2016 Thanks, I'll probably try to go down Sunday. It's either here or maybe Montauk. Even if I don't fish, it will be interesting to see the water and if there are any changes. instagram.com/fishingmill twitter.com/Fishingmill vimeo.com/fishingmill
Members jackdizo Posted January 3, 2016 Members Posted January 3, 2016 Anybody make it down to the spring or montauk this weekend? Curious how the parks held up to all the flooding and how the water looks? Thanks in advance for any reports!
Justin92297 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I stopped by mermac spring on Saturday. The water was almost back to normal height but still pretty muddy so I fished westover farms instead. The fishing was very good.
Fishingmill Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 I went to Montauk on Sunday. Fished the flies only section. Water was a little high and pretty murky. It looked like there were several rainbows spawning in rapids. Not sure if it is normal for this time of year. Kinda slow but saw a few rainbows in the 2-4 lb range. I was using a variety of nymphs. Very light takes so there were several that I missed. instagram.com/fishingmill twitter.com/Fishingmill vimeo.com/fishingmill
