Stopped at Rt. 12 ramp for a quick view. Whoa! Chocolate milk as far as the eye could see. Bear cove too. My 3rd winter here, never saw anything like this. Not a mud line, a mud lake!

Gonna be a long winter for me.

I have been fishing Beaver since 2001 and have never seen this much high water.

I won't be on the lake this weekend.  Probably not next weekend either.  No point in going really.  The striper bite is very sporadic and hard to pin point in a day's time.  And the next day it's completely different. 

 

I could go play with bass near the dam I guess.  But I'd much rather catch a 40lb beast.

Was up near the dam today, water is surprisingly clear around the Lost Bridge ramps, some  pea green stain in Clifty, but fishable.   We caught some bass, didn't tear them up, but enough to make it an enjoyable day.  Dang cold weather will keep me from fishing next week.

You're not helping! I was planning on working this weekend and getting caught up. I know better than to go chase bass after a cold front. But now I have images of flipping baits pockets and points.

I am in Minot,ND right now and would love to see water that is not hard !! Get out and enjoy it. If you think it is cold, come spend the week with me and next weekend you will be fishing in shorts !

Quillback and I had a good time down around the dam. No real pattern to them, though. Caught them all the way in the backs of coves, middle of coves and main lake points. Rock Crawlers, spinner baits, ned, jigs, etc. I thought it was actually a very decent outing for Beaver in its current condition.

Jeb was that you replacing bunk boards at PC last week?  If so, I apologize for not introducing myself and saying hi.  I didn't think about it until I was shoving off and I recognized the boat. Thought that might have been you.  I was in the red Ranger aluminum rig.

Just watched Zonas Awesome Fishing Show where they were hammering smallmouth. 

 

You guys are killing me.  I'll probably be at the dam tomorrow chasing smallmouth now.   I can't take it.  I tried to let the boat rest this weekend but it's YOUR fault.  Lol!
