Blll Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Took my morning coffee and drove over to the rt.12 ramp this morning around 7:30 am. Temp was 23 degrees and there was ice on the ramp. Water still brown. Wow, 5 trailers and 1 more putting in. I could see a couple boats fishing between the islands. I salute you guys! To quote some other O.A. members: " I'm just not that mad at em'." Would love to here some reports!
J-Doc Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I haven't nor am I going this weekend but I know some on the water. I'm keeping kids this weekend. Otherwise it could be tempting. I'm betting my heart wouldn't be in it aND would not fish very long. I'm over the dirtyears water. Ready for something normal. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. Guest Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Im going to drive around & record water temps & water color up the rivers.
Champ188 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 They can still be caught. This one came from 41-degree water Friday, along with a dozen more, including four over 3 pounds. Not from Beaver. But a fishing report nonetheless. fisherofmen11, Lance34 and Quillback 3
J-Doc Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Cold water doesn't bother me. Cold muddy water full of shad .....well that does. It's starting to clear up in some areas. Jerkbaits are probably the best bet on Beaver besides warts right now. (Overall) Some guys are dynamite with both. Some (like me) catch em on luck with those baits. Need marine repair? Stump bumper Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 If it is 41 degree water on Beaver it will be filling up with dead shad. Some days those are great and some days they are just stuffed to the gills. I usually slay with a jerk bait, but have not tried the muddy water yet.
Guest Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Waters 38 degrees at Neil's bluff up the river. Talked to a guy that had a limit of slab crappie. He was tight lipped, so I have no idea how. The water looks good up there, so it's not surprising.
Lance34 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Drove around the other day Hwy 412, Blue springs, and friendship creek areas. Water color looked good to me. Not mud, or brown but clear with a green tent to it. Hard to explain...Planning to get back at it next week. Figure my best bet would be slowly pushing minnows and cast n drag shooting docks. Best of luck to those that get out there.

Members derekburleson Posted January 24, 2016 Members Posted January 24, 2016 Didn't get on the water, but was at Monte Ne today and it's still chocolate milk.
