5bites Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 2" below sounds crazy high to me. I hope you have a water pressure gauge. 1/4" at a time is all it should be moved. Bassboatcentral has good setup info.
Members justfishing Posted January 30, 2016 Author Members Posted January 30, 2016 I am running troque mater lower unit and have plugged top 4 holes on each side so I can motor way up there. Nose cone of lower unit has water inlet so I shouldn't lose any water pressure.
Members paintnfurdoe Posted January 30, 2016 Members Posted January 30, 2016 I know our boats our totally different......but my motor is set up,1" 1/4 above pad. I have a Sportmaster lower unit and a 14" jack plate . i remember when I was breaking it in, It was buried at 2 inches below pad and was hard to drive and lots of steering wheel torque. Can't run engine that high unless you have low water pickup.
