Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 12, 2005 Root Admin Share Posted November 12, 2005 Buster reported he fished the James River area today and fishing was slow. But the dam area and Kimberling City area are fishing much better- if you like fishing DEEP. He said on main lake points out in the mouths of the cove in 35-40 feed deep (find the shad) and drop football jigs- normal colors (pumpkin and green)- as well as night crawlers. Catching BIG kentuckies. Cooler weather and cooler water is need to run the bass up the coves and in shallower water. Crappie- fair. Heard Cricket is just fair and a big crappie is only 10 inches. May be Buster's wife will let him used the computer someday and he can make his own reports
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 12, 2005 Author Root Admin Share Posted November 12, 2005 Got a hot tip at the C of O lady basketball game tonight... white bass are being caught at Bridgeport (James River Arm) off a long, shallow point there (those who know Bridgeport know this point I guess) close to the launch. When the wind is out of the south, wade out to about knee deep and throw a rooster tail as far as you can- big whites too! That's what I heard. If I make it I'll report back what I find. I know I'm fishing tomorrow but just don't know where yet.

I coaxed one into biting a spinner bait of all things. Nice fish of almost 4#. There were also a bunch of crappie stacked up next to the rip rap around the 76 bridge. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 18, 2005 Author Root Admin Share Posted November 18, 2005 Heard more stories about the whites at Bridgeport - still excellent. Also crappie are being caught along the rip rap at the ramp and on the bluff across the lake from the ramp... cooler weather should school them up better. If you hear anything or have any report at all, please let us know.
MOBass
I may go back down there Sunday and just fish the whites and crappie. Last time down I didn't have any crappie jigs or rooster tails and was making doing swimming grubs to get the fish. Maybe if I go down there half way prepared I can get on them better.
