trythisonemv Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Looking to head down there second week in March now if my wife will let me! ! Taking the fly rod so I hope the weather holds out!
slab slinger Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 It should be good then if no huge rains. Man you fly rod guys knock them dead. I have fished the Little sac my whole life and consider myself above average fishing it, but I can say y'all got it figured out. Last year I was fishing a hole up from Taylor and was headed to the truck with a limit. I had been fishing for 45 min or so to get my 15 fish and thought I done well. I stopped to rest and chat with a fly fishermen. I saw him catch and release a fish every cast for atleast a dozen casts. I'm amazed every spring at how effective a tiny kip tail jig and a fly rod are on whites. trythisonemv, BilletHead and Stacy Jordan 3
Flatbottom Boy Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 What are you guys throwing at them with the fly rod? Just streamers and clousers or something different?
trythisonemv Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I'll be throwing clousers that I tied up this week and maybe some maribou jigs under a float. I hope they start running soon with this warm streak. Then we just need the morels to pop and it'll be a meal. slab slinger and Flatbottom Boy 2
