Quillback Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Saw most of the first half and then the last minute of Mizzou beating SC. Nice win for the Tiggers.
Al Agnew Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 It's been a tough year, but the emergence of Rosburg as a scoring threat has made a huge difference in this team. You gotta give Kim Anderson credit for working with Rosburg and improving his game immensely, and credit to Rosburg for being willing to work hard to improve himself. And the freshmen, especially Phillips, are beginning to figure it out. I always kinda liked Wes Clark, but him being booted off the team might just have made a positive difference in the team chemistry. When Clark was in the game he was usually handling the ball, and he's always been a mediocre at best point guard (as well as an inconsistent shooter). Now, Phillips knows the team is his as point guard, and Isabell knows that he's the real back-up point guard, and both may be settling into their roles. They still aren't a good outside shooting team, but maybe that will come in time. Wright, Vanleer, and even Gant SHOULD be able to hit threes better than they are. Perhaps with Rosburg becoming a threat to score and Phillips being turned loose to be a real point guard and find the open man, the shots will start to fall. They also still aren't real good on defense and they'll always have some trouble rebounding, but they are working at it. It's nice to see them continue to work hard, and very nice to see some of that work rewarded.
joeD Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 The only threat Rosburg poses is how quickly he will lose the rest of his hair. On any given day, a crap team will rise up and beat a better team. Happens all the time, every year. It doesn't, and shouldn't, give hope for Mizzou basketball. Remember, THEY ARE ON PROBATION. Which, in this day and age, is ridiculous. You have to be absolutely stupid to get caught in such a permissive atmosphere. Anyway, good luck Kim Anderson. He'll need it. This is about winning, not teaching kids proper technique on boxing out and where to find the cafeteria.
Quillback Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Well I see Mizzou is coming to Fayetteville this Saturday. Arkansas is playing like crap lately, would not surprise me to see Mizzou pull this one off. Arkansas has lost consecutive games to Miss. State, Ol' Miss and Auburn (lost to Auburn at home!).
