figured i had better get out ahead of the cold and nasty coming.  dinked around for bass with several attacks, but to no avail.  caught one short on a jerk bait.  so, decided to give the crappie a try, and once discovered the pattern, stayed pretty busy all afternoon.  tons of shorts and ended up with a dozen or so keepers.  many of these crappie were very high in the water column.

well, hope it is better weather next week.  sure did enjoy the day.

Great to hear. Never had much success with Crappie on TR, although we have not spent alot of time chasing them.

Would you be willing to share some pointers? Are you throwing towards docks and swimming little tube jigs? Dropping tubes over deep brush piles? Locating fish and structure on electronics?

Sounds Fun!

What kind of areas, what baits, in trees?

I saw a few guys catching some crappie Sunday in the creeks and bigger pockets off the Kings River. Most were fishing jigs around visible wood in 15-25 feet of water. Not sure how deep they were going with their jigs but most of the fish I saw them catch were throwbacks.
