buddy and I put in about noon at hermitage ramp to target crappie. (trying to get the jump on shockley for the tourney saturday) well that plan didnt work.  Headed up the lindley trying some brush piles and spawning coves.  nothing.  water temp started out at 55ish and got warmer the farther up we went.  did catch a nice 4lb catfish on a jig and ultralight.  was fun.  ended up in bailey cove. and finally found 3 just legal crappie caught on whited tube skirt with silver glitter body and red tip.  water temp in bailey was 61.  water color starting out was very stained to muddy with 1 ft visiblity.  water color got better the farther up but the vis was still the same.  we noticed a guy hanging around outside of bailey for a long time so we tried the spot on out way out.  bingo.  well not crappie but we got into the white bass on a swallow gravel area.  the fish werent big but it sure was fun..we caught over 30 before we had to call it quits and put 11 in the well.  come join the crappie tourney on sat.  you will never fish with a better bunch of guys and gals that are so laid back and just come to have fun.

Congrats on the white bass!  I'm not big on white bass but they can be a lot of fun.  I was hoping you were going to tell me where to catch the crappie Saturday.

I hit a few of my brush piles yesterday while out bass fishing. Didn't do to good on crappie only caught caught 2 females about 12 inches long and missed 2 other bites. Think I will stick to the bass for a while longer.

Hasn't been great usually end up with 5 to 10 in 3to 4 hours mostly all legal fish biggest in the last week has been 4.5 lbs.but most around 2 lbs. Been catching them about 50/50 on jerkbaits and jigs.

Went out on the 13th and only caught two nice crappie and one white. Ended up with a nice limit of blacks though. Started at Bolivar Landing and went to Wheatland and worked our way back. Average of of 55 degree water. I am curious what this weather this weekend will do to the lake.
