Members davek Posted March 23, 2016 Members Posted March 23, 2016 How difficult is it to install a bird si on a Lund 17ft deep v?
rps Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I fish a Alumacraft deep v. Similar design. Does your boat have a plastic slab on which to mount transducers? Like this: Notice how the si transducer is mounted to be just at the boat bottom.
jdmidwest Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Where do you find those plastic slabs? I hate drilling into the boat. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
rps Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 On my boat, they drilled the transom to attach the slab, but that meant all the later transducer install would not be through the hull. The plastic is the same as used for chopping boards and the original folks at Tracy Marine in Mountain Home put it on.
Blll Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 They do make a "glue-on" product for the same purpose if you're anti drill holes. Its called "Sternmate" Worked great!
