PigSooner Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Put in at PC- first time out in a long while. Water was brown 6-12" visibility, 53-55 degrees. Saw a lot of anglers working docks and shoreline. Was wanting to work some points at dusk/ dark but never marked much activity on sonar, didn't even see many bait balls which was unusual. Ran around PC cove and the islands. Original plan was to put in at monte ne and head upstream- sounds like more activity that way.
Stump bumper Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I put in at PC yesterday also, goal was to catch bait and head south. When I got on the water realized I didn't fill the gas tank...DUH So I took the 5-7 inch gizzards and headed over to the bridge and trolled up to point 10 staying in the channel. I think I marked 3 fish except when I was over trees. There were fish holding in the trees but they would not come out even for live bait. Tough day in that area. Tested the new prop and it ran just liked I hoped so the day was not a loss, also found some really big trees in 100 feet of water that might come in handy in the summer.
Members steadyt Posted March 26, 2016 Members Posted March 26, 2016 I put in at PC yesterday and caught a couple out on some points. I ended up in explorer mode and rolled around and marked some things, I'm still pretty new to this lake so i'm still trying to figure some things out. Beautiful day on the water though.
Dan the fisherman Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I'm with u guys. I checked water from point 12 to point 5 yesterday. Heck I even tried bass fishing for a hour and a half with nothing to show. Right at dusk I marked some fish but I couldn't get a hook up. I was using ballon rigs and would see the rod tips go down hard ever so often but no hook up. Might have done better if I had smaller baits. The shad I was using were huge. Like 10-12 inches. Think maybe some 4-7 inchers would have been better. I went back this morning around 9 and hooked up within 20 mins. I ended up with 2 short stripers 1 keeper and 3 huge crappie. I took pics of the crappi cuz they were so big. Striper was only 8-10 pounds so I didn't get a pic of him. i only got to fish 2 hrs but was happy with the activity I got Lance34, chi0082, Stump bumper and 2 others 5
Stump bumper Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 From the looks of the jug on the front deck it looks like you have been some heavy drinking....
Vinsott Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Are you sure those aren't the new "crapper" that they have been stocking. That is the crappie striper hybrid of course. Dan the fisherman 1

I go threw one of those every 2 trips or so. I seen the empty jug and thought a one gallon jug would be a good comparison
