Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 26, 2007 Root Admin Posted February 26, 2007 Boated to the dam with John Johnson and 'Cousin Bill' for an evening of fellowship and fishing. The wind was tough for the first 2 hours but we managed quite a few trout- all on white jigs, mostly 1/8 oz. I tied a trailer on Bill's rig with a 1/32 oz white jig which he caught most of his fish on. The wind died down about 5 pm and fishing was great... too bad the sun has to go down on a day like today. Pics... hope you enjoy. The following pics- is me playing around with my underwater camera. Kinda cool.
Tightline Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Nice pictures, most of the trout look really healthy and have good color. I watched the guys cleaning a big mess of Trout friday evening on the Trout Cam.That is a really nice cleaning station Phil,I thought I saw B.Babler in there helping clean the fish, well, he was putting the fillets in a baggy. Jeremy Rasnick Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 First Off I wan't to tell Phil thanks for the Jigs. I should have known better than to show up to the lake with only 3 white Jigs. Fished from 4:30 til dark and Caught lots of rainbows and 3 browns 1 of which went 19", and talk about a jumper. Sorry No pictures. I have caught several browns on taneycomo but this evening I experienced something that I had never experienced. I made a cast towards the bank and ended up hooking some moss, as I was realing in my jig connected to about a foot of moss trailing. I had a brown trout come up from behind and swipe the moss right off of my jig. I let the jig sink as the brown swirled viciously around my white jig. Long story short i did not catch the brown but It would have went aprox 10-12lbs.
Danoinark Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Neat underwater pictures. Now I may be making something of this, but do you noticed that you can't see the mono or fluro fishing line in the pics? Maybe that's how mono / fluro acts underwater, completely invisable. I just assumed some of it would show. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 26, 2007 Author Root Admin Posted February 26, 2007 Using fluorocarbon. Didn't notice. Cool.
Seth Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Looks like Jeremy's brown might of taken a chomp on that one poor rainbow.
WebFreeman Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Neat pics, Phil. I esp. like the 2-25f & g where the trout are on the surface w/ jig in mouth. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
Snow Fly Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Phil: Nice pictures! What model of camera were you using? I have a new Pentax Optio W 20 have not had a chance to try underwater . Now they have already come out with the Optio W30 good to 10 feet underwater . "God gave fishermen expectancy, so they would never tire of throwing out a line"
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 26, 2007 Author Root Admin Posted February 26, 2007 That's what I have- Optio W20.
Terry Beeson Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I wonder if mono would show up in your photos? Maybe you could "experiment" a bit, Phil...
