Lifes2Short Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I had the pleasure to fish the Midwest HawgHunters tourney out of Roark on Sunday. What a great bunch of guys if you ever get the chance to fish one of their tourneys, well run operation!!! Needless to say it blew like stink all day, 20+ in the afternoon with bluebird skies. Water temps were 52 to 58 in and around the Sac & Son's area. We ended up with 28 fish but only 7 keepers, however this one was a nice 6.4# toad. We weighed 13.4#s I believe, this tourney has you only weigh 4 which is a nice change. The toad came on a spinnerbait early and most of the rest of the fish were caught on jigs, cranks and a little bit of finesse stuff. Water up in the Son's is really off color, fishable but I found it to be pretty tough going. We did notice a few areas that looked like some nests were being built, not sure if it was bass since we didn't see any bloody tails? Tight Lines All! Fishin4Fun, Hammer time and dprice 3
waterpossum Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Nice fish. I think the plus side of 20 mph was the standard. Some of those gusts were brutal. Lifes2Short 1
