Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 1, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 1, 2007 You know those big rocks to the Forsyth side of the rock pile... I've always done well on the crappie around those rocks and between the cable and the dam face. They might not be there yet.
catman70 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I saw Fishin' Freak when I was fishing from the shore last night. I was throwing stickbaits and think I had one bite - it was one of those where the fish hits the same moment you jerk the bait. Could have been the ground, but I was out awfully far. Anyhow, met another fella down there who was skunked as well. If the storm would have come through earlier it might have been better.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 If you're throwing stickbaits for anything I've found its helpful to sharpen your hooks every trip and every time you hit a rock. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Bill Babler Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Guys, we are going to have to do something about the Freak. Look's to me after he totally put the wammey on the Rock, he moved to Bull. We were catchen-em good on the Rock until he showed this year and now he has gone to Bull too absolutely put the chill on. He is the only guy I know who can put a skunk on Beck. Freekie-deekie, we are going to have to go, so I can take the wammey off of you, before you ruin all the liquid we have in this area. Come to think of it you can only watch. I'm afraid if you fish you will ruin the 07 season. I'll get you going and get this skunk off. I'll make Sk put us on one of his honey holes that won't fail. Give me a call when you get a free minute or two. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 2, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 2, 2007 Bill- you're just going to have get out there and warm things up... and the "Bull" was already pretty chilly according to most. We may have to have a fish-off... I'll hold the coats.
vonreed Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 I fished tonight for 2 hours. Caught 2 rainbows and 1 brown at the Pothole. I sure wish I could of turned them into walleye though. I guess I need to get a trout stamp and smoke some.
Bill Babler Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I just can't understand why they haven't shown up yet. Spoke to Buster yesterday and he is puzzled also. One of the slowest starts to the season we have had. You would have thought with all the generation the fish would have made a move. Good fisherman are working the lake and it is just slow. Maby they will turn on in a fantastic manner later, Can't wait. I think we are all waiting for one good report and then Katty Bar the Door. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Could it be the water temps lower due to the colder winter? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Fishin' Freak Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Bill if you have a honey hole don't let me know about it, it might freeze over. I think I may have to post up on the Taney page and scare those boys as well. February was a rough month for me to say the least. I think I caught three fish total and it wasn't for a lack of trying. I didn't get out as much as I would have liked but my last four trips(two for bass, two for the eyes) have all resulted in the skunk. The weather hasn't been the best in my opinion. It seems to me that when I do get a chance to fish it is blowing snow or just flat out cold, so I stay home. I promise the skid won't last much longer. Tomorrow may be the day? Keep after them boys.
