Quillback Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Fished from daylight until 1:30 PM, picked up 14 black bass, fish were scattered, one of those days where I'd get a bite every once in a while. Caught some decent fish, a couple of large mouth on a crank, a meanmouth and smalle on a c-rigged craw that were all 2.5-2.75 lb. fish. Some where out on the main channel, some half way back in coves, in 5-15 FOW. Water temps 63-64. Blll, Lance34 and RyanG 3
Stump bumper Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Nice fish, did you spot any roaming the shore line? I was in PC yesterday and the water temps were around 67, they should be moving up.
Dan the fisherman Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Awesome quill. I love catching them beaver lake smallies.

No, I did not see any beds or fish on the shore, I didn't look in a lot of places, but did check out a couple of pockets that I thought should have had beds.

PigSooner Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I fished around ventris and never saw any up shallow. Caught a few bass and a nice walleye on a crank bait in 15-20 fow. Also ran down around horseshoe- never had any luck in the shallows.

Mike I was fishing in very strong wind and the shad were blown back in a very shallow cove(4 feet at the deepest point). I had three really big brutes on but they threw the hook at the boat. There were even a few walleye feeding up on shore but couldn't hang on to them either, trying to fight a fish with your boat being blown in that direction is not easy. So yes they were really shallow, but I think it was because of the shad and white caps. I did notice a lot of boats trying to get out of the wind, never will figure that one out. If you end up in that hard wind on Saturday I would suggest a swimbait through the brush that is being beaten by white caps. Mike jones 1
