mixermarkb
Ok, I'm coming down to Bull Shoals Monday, and have been seeing pictures of Stripers being caught on Facebook. I've never caught a striper, and am thinking I may come over Monday evening and give it a try- Can someone give me the "Norfork spring stripers for dummies" here? Members SgtChuck64
The easiest way for a novice to catch a striper, if you dont have live shad, is to jump fish them. Tie a spook on one rod and a fluke on another rod and look for the feeding fish. Ease into them slowly with your trolling motor. My favorite way to catch them is on topwater baits. mixermarkb
mixermarkb
What areas should I be looking for them? Main lake I'm guessing? Flats? Points? Bluffs?
Members SgtChuck64
Main lake points, especially the ones with the wind blowing in to them
Members SgtChuck64
Oh, and if you like to night fish, pound those same areas, slow rolling a Rogue.

Members SgtChuck64
5 1/2 " suspending rattling Rogue, chrome, blue back, orange belly.Fish parallel to the bank. If you see the buck brush moving, thats the stripers feeding on spawning shad. Im gonna be on Bull in October permanently, in the Oakland area. Your reports on the lower Bull forum have been very informative. mixermarkb
Riverwhy
My advice is similar . Look for rocky wind blown points both early morning and late evening . They are feeding on shad right now . Rogues and any other stick baits worked slowly are a good choice . I hooked a nice one Saturday morning using a megabass but he came off near the boat.
