Beautiful morning. Caught 19" WB as I was dropping down my 1st brooder. Tried for another for an hour before I moved on. Marking tons of bait and fish between the islands. Wind came up and so did the stripers. 3 around 12#'s and a few more big whites. 15" spot as I was bring the rods in. Brooders on flat lines, 125-135' back in 35-45 fow. Wt 64-66 everywhere. Everything died around 11. The whites still had eggs in them. Weird spring.

Thanks for the report bill.  I hope to be on water early this week. Now I at least have an idea where to start.  I thought I was done striper fishing but with all these reports of stripers caught, it definitely gets me itchin for some striper fishin.

Skipped the live bait this afternoon and went pulling flickers with no luck. I saw those big swirls, wished I would have stoped for some live bait.

I'm glad you got into them today. Persistence is the key to fishing. My wife and I took a walk to Lake Atalanta and I carried a pole with me and caught a big rock bass, or goggle eye or something like that.  The water in that lake smells funny?

I had good luck on stripers last spring with lures, flickers and reef runners. Zero this spring in 3 trys, so I opted for the brooders. Kind of slooooow fishing until that reel screams.

I had two different flicker minnows and a fliker shad out and ran head on to a striper guide pulling shad on planners and balloons at point 10. I swung out and he ran right through the water I had just fished and three rods went down at the same time. Seems those big fish are just being picky right now. It just seems to be the right time with the right bait or nothing.
