We fought the wind yesterday. Could not fish any of the banks we wanted to fish but did manage to bring home 12 crappie. All were males but 1 and her eggs had some blood but were not mushy.  Water temp had dropped and was running about 64* up around High Point. Spawn who knows??

6' to 8' of water and caught on jigs.

We caught several white bass and black bass. Some of the blacks were running up around 14". Kept half a doz whites for a friend.

Zarraspook is that fishing dock on the N. bank in Mutton relatively new?

No.. I haven't seen a dock of any kind on the north side of the cove for about 10-12 years...

I have never known of a fishing  dock either on the N. bank That's why I asked. Thought I had missed something when I saw the map you posted for Kramr

I got that map the first year I moved here 1986...  Buildings and Docks ETC, come and go but, the lake stays....

If anyone has a newer map- check and see if it still shows the fishing dock.....

Do you remember the fishing dock at Orleans Trail? The neighbor next to my land at Stockton was raised on land that joins Stockton Lake and he can probably relate a lot of interesting facts about the land surrounding the lake. He said the timbered area in Son's Creek was known by the locals as Sycamore.

On the topic of spawn I do not think they have ever gone into full spawn mode do to the weather patterns lately.  I fished from CC to almost mutton last sunday and could not find any crappie till 4pm and then caught 8 keepers right before I had to leave at 5.  6 were fat females full of eggs ready to go 2 were dark males.  about 6 foot deep in 13 ft of water.  also caught 2 nice white bass and a 2 lb cat and all were about to explode with eggs.  So I dont think the crappie have nearly all spawned out.  just my opinion.

I backed off in 13ft in Turkey Creek, and caught big females. Females were still full of eggs, next full moon they will start dropping them.

Do you remember what the water temps were in that area?
