I got out the causeway again this morning. I was on the west side of the bridge at 6:45 am. The sky was clear and it was cool with little wind. The water was still pretty muddied with less than 6-9" of visibility.I started with a 1/6 oz watermelon/chartreuse slider about 18" under a float fishing parallel and close to the bank. Nothing was touching that bait. I caught my first three crappie while fishing the same 1/8 oz jig  pearl / chart.combo I used last Weds.  The strikes were sporadic like the fish were moving in waves. Two guys fishing from the bridge since day break limited out and left. I got on the bridge and jigged around the bridge supports. I had a few strikes both at the end of my casts and right next to the bridge on the south side, but only landed a bluegill. The north side was a different story. I caught 8 fish on that side. As I was catching fish, I was thinking that I have five crappie, it would be nice to catch a sixth fish, or now I have nine total, I would love to catch that tenth fish. Once I landed the tenth fish, I thought I really should get on the road, but let's cast once more. I soon caught my eleventh crappie of the day. When I went for the even dozen, I hooked up on a rock and broke off. Someone was also telling me it was time to head home. Today's fish were shorter than those I caught on Weds. with a range of 9.5 to 11.5". Left at 9 am with fish still biting for some of the boats on the north side of the bridge. I doubt that I will make it back up to Thomas Hill before the crappie move deeper off the banks. I have it on mind for next season.
