smbasser Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 One word......TOUGH. Had 37 boats show for the first event of the season and i believe 13+ won the tournament with about 10 lbs drawing a check, paid 7 places. Very few big fish to be found but numbers were not an issue. Fish could be caught everywhere on whatever you wanted. I caught fish from 1 fow to 20. We fished from maze to orleans boat ramp. My High school partner threw a jig all night and I stuck to a carolina rig brush hog. WT was 68 about everywhere. Like I said, tough for all but great night to be out of the house. WATERPOSSUM, great to see you again. waterpossum and bassfisher 2
waterpossum Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Likewise SMBASSER. What a beautiful night to be on the water. First time bass fishing at night for my partner. We fished from Turkey creek back to the weigh in site. We caught fish on watermelon brush hogs and spinner baits. The size should get a lot better by the next time out. I hope they eventually fix the light on the boat ramp. I believe it was out last year. P.S. My winnings are still swimming around with three brush hogs in their mouths.
smbasser Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 My HS kid caught most of the fish and we were lucky enough to cash a check, 5th i believe. Its incredible the opportunities these kids have now a days with most tournament guys being tight lipped waterpossum and dprice 2

Proud they get the opportunities ... Proud of people that teach them wisely I have several rods and reels to give to some of these young men that may be not able to compete for lack of equipment Young men grow and learn good and bad habits from adults they hang around these young men eventually replace us old men ! So proud of them ! priceheatingair.com BilletHead 1 Dprice priceheatingair.com
