Members burton brown Posted July 12, 2016 Members Posted July 12, 2016 This weekend my family and I will be camping at meramec springs and I was wondering if anyone had fished it in the last week or so? I haven't really fished the park and this will be my first time fly fishing it so I wa a wondering what flies are recommended and and also what part or the spring would produce the moves fish. The one time I fished the park in the past I stayed down by the bridge where the spring meets the river so I want sure of further up the spring might have a few better spots. i have fished the he cardiac access a few times so I'm going to be hitting up the red ribbon area also, has anyone night fished for Browns around the park and downriver? Well thanks for any help you guys might be able to give.
sms_alum Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 In the park can be a little crowded to fly fish especially on a weekend and in the mornings. The afternoon is lighter. If I were strictly fly fishing I would work the area just outside the park where the two rivers converge. The evenings there will have a little dry fly action as well. I hope you enjoy it and don't get too frustrated with all the floaters and cheese chuckers. For flies, it's a trout park so glo balls and shammy worms always seem to do okay.
