Hojo Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I've never been on this part of the river. We are staying a mile or 2 upriver from the Norfork confluence. I know the White will be generating but what should I expect as far as flow? Is it doable in a canoe for a family float or should I stick to the river boat? Fishing...trout still active down there? Smallmouth? Any info is appreciated.
Ham Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Plenty of fish down there. Maybe a few less Browns, but plenty of fish. Any flow rate that you would be comfortable in the canoe will be fine down there. Minimum flow in a canoe will be fine. I would not be comfortable at 15000 CFS, but you might be. I was perfectly ok at 24,000 CFS in my yak so it's more about my comfort level in a canoe. Hojo Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Thanks Ham. I'm pretty comfortable in a canoe, but I prefer a nice slow, relaxing flow with the family.
