Fluorescent Bulb vs Led Blacklight

The advent of fluorescent braid, has in my experience made bulb type blacklights obsolete. Glo Vis braid doesn't illuminate quite as much as mono,  thus causing you to miss a lot of hits. I have been using bulb type fluorescent blacklights and the other night I bet I missed nearly 50 bites, especially on the fall. I don't know how we fished in the dark, but I proved to myself I can't to it anymore. I have to see the line at all times since I started using braid. Here's my problem, once I started using braid a1nd feeling all the movement and sensitivity, I just can't go back to mono. Now back to what lead to pick for a poor man who is nearly 85 year old,  but still enjoys fishing at night.  I have found that Leds are the answer, can't afford $150. for a Lunar Xtreme like some people I know,  no more than about have that amount.

At bass pro you can get led black lites for about $42 a side. They work just as good as the expensive ones

these lites also have a white lite in them also that really enhances the black lite and bank

i have tried the bass pro shop led black light, and it is in the same boat at their tube black light - very lacking.  some people get along with the strip lights, but you have to have enough of them that your line is always over a light.  a good two bulb tube light still costs 150 to 180, and that is the same cost of a good led such as the lunar extreme.  hazbin, you can buy a good light and leave it to someone when you leave here.  you can't take your money with you when you leave here.  so, you may as well buy a light that you can see with.

I still need some information on Nite iii's (eye's) ,  it looks very similar to Lunar Xtreme in size and they claim it will  show 100' of florescent line.  Bo,  I understand all the other, but have to get allocations from my CFO.

Those corporate penny pinchers at the top just don't seem to understand the problems of the common fishing man.

For your information, Stren produces a braid superline  in a clear blue fl and it glows just like their mono does with a black light. It is great to use in the daytime also, very visible. You have to search for it on line to find it I have found it on Ebay once in awhile. I use it in a 30 lb test with a 15 lb fluorocarbon leader. I'm like you I'll never go back to a straight mono or fluorocarbon line they are like a rubber band on a hook set.

GNS,  Thank a lot. What did that 150 yrd. cost?  You said it's pretty hard to find,  like on e bay,  can't find it locally- Cabelas or BP? Are you using regular tube blacklights?
