Dutch Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I am making some slab knockers for my neighbor and need some color recommendations. I am not a crappie fisherman so I would really like some tips please.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 11, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 11, 2007 OK- I'll ask... what's a slab knocker?

crappiefisherman Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 buy some of lilleys swimming minnows. They are very close to your crappie treats there. And i do believe even after the curly tail is gone the crappies are liking them [ [
Terry Beeson Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Slab knocker? There's an "off color" joke in there... but I'll refrain... I use to use a "Crappie Stinger" which was a jig with only one tail that was deadly on the lake I use to fish... Tightline Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 They are called Slab Hunters at Truman tailrace,Jenny sells them at the Station in a wide variety of colors. They work good for Crappie and are very popular with the locals up there.I like pearl and chartreuse in the medium size the best. Not much to them,a very simple lure, but at times they are the only thing that works up there.
loo10 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I'm sitting here thinking, "SLAB KNOCKER" (Now that's funny I dont care who you are.) Rich Looten Springfield, Missouri "If people don't occasionally walk away from you shaking their heads, you're doing something wrong."- John Gierach
