M_Taylor Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Hello fellas, first time reporting on here as it was my first weekend fishin TR. I'm on the Beaver Lake forum some as that's where home is for me. I was staying at Still Water resort and got a few hours of fishing in and thought I'd share. Water temp was 83-84 around Indian Point. Weather was warm and sunny. I caught some fish way back in creek arms, even some on topwater during the middle of the day. Shallow enough to see the wake behind my spook. But nothing of any size. Wasn't any wake boats either I lucked into a magical main lake point that I only wish I could have had more time to explore Sunday mid morning. I marked some fish in 25-30 ft and so I backed off and threw a shaky head and immediately landed a nice spot. I repeated the cast with the same result. Four out of six casts I caught 3 2lb spots and a 1.5 smallie. All of em fought excellent. They wised up to the shaky and so I dropped a Robo worm down and over the next half an hour or so caught about half a dozen. I had 10lb bag within an hour and would have stayed a lot longer if it weren't for a lunch date I wasn't allowed to miss.(I still love my in-laws, but...) Thanks for letting me borrow the lake for a weekend. I will be back and hope to have at least half as much fun as i did. My wife took some photos of the fish but you've all seen 2lb Ks before. I will post one that shows the video game fishing outcome that I thought was kinda cool. Hopefully the iPhone post will be ok. magicwormman, Donna G, merc1997 Bo and 2 others 5
Quillback Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Good stuff. Fish appear to be schooling now in the main lake. When you find them, like you did, it can lead to some fast and furious fishing.
Nitro 750 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Thanks for the report, sounds like you had a good trip.
merc1997 Bo Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 great job, and keep looking around. there are plenty of schools bunched up like that right now, but they are not everywhere and it does require some gas burning in searching for them. bo
