drew03cmc Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Probably not, but does anyone use glide baits on the rivers of the Ozarks? I'm referring to the S-Waver and things of that ilk. Thanks. Andy
evilcatfish Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I've fished the Deps 175 and S Waver a little bit on the Eleven Point, Current and Mac. Caught a few but nothing of serious size. The main issue with fishing glides in rivers (at least in my opinion) is that most don't do well in much current on account of their slower sink rates. Also, it seems that the bigger glides just have a better swim to them, and stuff like a 250 or Hinkle are just a little much for Ozark river smallies. Truth be told, I've sold off all my glides with the exception of a HPH, they really just aren't my style for some reason. Now, if you are really interested in throwing swimmers for smallmouth, I suggest getting a couple Triple Trouts. They'll smoke em JUNGLE JIM 1 and Moswimb8slinger 2
drew03cmc Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 Interesting, I'll have to look into a few Triple Trout. Any suggestions on colors? Andy

Sorry for the delay. I like most all the colors that resemble a shad. He does several patterns that fit the bill (purple back, sexy, etc) Tackle Warehouse and Last Chance are good sources for them, or also check out tripletrout.com where you can sometimes find unique sizes and color patterns. Scott the owner is a good dude and makes a great product JUNGLE JIM 1 1
Moswimb8slinger Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I have used the S-waver 168 and 200 in Beaver Creek, but like evilcatfish said, they're not that great in current because of the slow sink rates. Now if you have a big slough and some cover (logs/boulders), that's where you what to throw it.
