I got out this morning kinda late.  About 845am. Water temp was 80 and it was slick calm and sunny..... I only got 2 today, but man there were as spooky as I've ever seen them. They would not let me get close enough to catch.  They were busting all around me but never really close enough.   Even when I'd mark them under me I'd drop a spoon and they'd shoot down away from it.  The only thing I can say, is that it must have been the lack of wind and super sunny conditions.   I was off the water by 1030 feeling that it just wasn't going to happen and  had things I need to do also.  Really though weird morning...

Sounds like my year.  I see them on the graph and they move away from spoons, dropshot, etc.

They were schooling and hitting top water too. Always just far enough away that my Sammy would come 5feet short of them. I'm  going to try more this week.  Maybe tomorrow evening or Friday morning if it's not thundering and raining

Table Rock was foggy early yesterday and the fish were biting, then it got slick, sunny and hot like you saw on Beaver.  The fish just shut down also.  Not seeing any schooling activity there like you saw.

It is funny how two lakes so close together can be so different at times.  There were lots of shad on top out in the channel, perfect conditions for the bass to be after them, but they weren't.  There were would be one or two every once in a while after the shad, but never any schools that I saw.  The gar were really active however.  It would be a good time to throw one of those rope lures at the gar if a guy was so inclined.

Sounds exactly like what I have seen on Beaver.  Exactly.....
