Members Bassin' fool Posted September 17, 2016 Members Posted September 17, 2016 I'm planning on heading over to Stockton tomorrow morning (take off at Roark) and was wondering if anybody had an updated report? I'll be looking for bass, and maybe walleye or crappie. Any tips are appreciated!
Ketchup Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Bass are plentiful. Go left out of Raurk and work the rock bank to the left. If it's windy start with a spinnerbait. If it's calm, try same banks with your favorite soft bait. Been catching a lot on KVD 1.5 square bill also. Bassin' fool and zarraspook 2 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Members Bassin' fool Posted September 18, 2016 Author Members Posted September 18, 2016 That's actually one of my "go to" spots. I love throwing wiggle warts around those bluffs and rock slides, might try a wacky worm around there for a little bit tomorrow. Thanks for the input!
Dutch Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Please report back I'm going out of Hartley Monday pm.
Members Bassin' fool Posted September 18, 2016 Author Members Posted September 18, 2016 Put in at Roark at 6:45 this morning and found a decent buzzbait bite around laydowns on rocky banks and shallow flat points, anywhere from right on the bank out to around 6 feet. Boated 2 keepers and 3 shorts on white buzzbait. Switched to blue-shad cranks around 8 am and landed 1 more keeper and 1 short in 14 fow over the top of brush piles. Was using rapala DT6 crankbaits. Then tried for some walleye and ended up catching 2 keepers on blue flicker shad in 4 feet of water around 10:30 am. I'm not sure that I have ever caught walleye that shallow so saying I was surprised is an understatement. All in all it was a fun, and what I consider successful, morning.
Dutch Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Yep sounds like a good time. I hope that there is an afternoon bite tomorrow.
Members RyanLane Posted September 19, 2016 Members Posted September 19, 2016 Took the wife and kids out yesterday to Stockton. Put in at the Mutton Creek ramp. Was a nice day, got a little hotter than I was hoping though. Water temp was 75-77. Trolled the big cove south of Hawker on the west side. Caught a few white bass, and one 17" walleye coming out of there. Caught a few other large mouth trolling. With the little kids its always tough to stay in one spot very long but we manage. Didn't mark a lot of fish at all. The one area we tried vertically jigging the Binks with no luck. Overall nice day on the lake.
