Members Illinoisflyfisher Posted September 28, 2016 Members Posted September 28, 2016 I will be making my first trip to bennet srings oct 14 15. I normally go to montauk so i have no clue were to fish in bennet. I fly fish so i would like to stay away from the bait fishermen as much as possible if it is possible. i was just wondering what part of the park to fish and if anyone has any pointers anything is appreciated! Thanks!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 You can fish in zone 1 and 2. Same flies as Montauk.
bassfisher Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Green color rooster tail gold blade!!!!!!!!!!
dpenrod Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 "Bennett Blue" cracklebacks and brown woollies.
Russell Doughty Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Try some midges about 15 to 18" below an indicator in the riffles. I have had good luck with a harvester midge and also a copper dun; copper bead, rusty dun thread body and copper rib, both tied on a #14 2499 spbl Tiemco hook.
brittsnbirds Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Send me a PM and I'll swap info with you. I do well at BSSP fly fishing but recently have switched to Montauk because my Wife likes it better. Need to get my game on there. Pat
