I started this morning looking for Striper. I made it to point 6 with nothing.  Nothing on the finder or anything to make me believe they were around. So I started bass fishing again and hit a couple of spots that have held fish all summer and even early fall. And guess what, u guessed it, nothing again.   My off shore stuff has dried up for the season and has moved else where.  Not that it was a surprise as I'd been expecting this to happen n e day now, but dang not after a frustrating Striper hunt,  I wanted some easy action and couldn't get it.  So back on the hunt for bass..... I did finally put something together and had 4 LMB and a white towards the end of my day.  I'm sure everyone know, but think shallow lol. Beating the bank is what did it for me today. WT was 70-71 today btw.  It was cloudy today so that might have helped get them shallow. Not sure though.  I need to try it some more to really key in. Good luck out there fellas

Saw something similar on Table Rock yesterday, a couple of deep spots where I had found bass and shad were empty of fish.  Found some on chunk rock on the main channel and back in coves.  They were biting jigs and cranks.  Couldn't get many largemouth and the quality was not good, mainly 12-14 inch fish, spots, mean mouth, and smallies.

Saw very little top water activity, which was strange, it being a cloudy day.

yep yep.  Did u try swim baits?  I threw bigs and small swim baits and still didn't hook up. Which I thought I would have.   Really what did it for me was a lipless crank.  Burned from the bank.

I tried a Megabass Magdraft swim bait a bit, nice action, but you have to fish it slow or it will roll on it's side.  Had a couple of nips on it.

I need to throw a lipless more this time of year.  I had a day about 6 years ago on beaver where I threw them back in Piney cove in one of the side pockets.  Caught a half dozen keeper large mouth in about 30 minutes, but could not get another bite on it that day after that.
