ollie Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 My brother and I are heading down next weekend for a couple of days and I would like to know what is hot right now! Other than the typical sculpin colors, what can anyone suggest? Mind you I am jig tying so color combos are all I really need to get started. Thanks "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Travis Swift Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 here is about all I tie anymore. 1)sculpin ginger 2)sculpin peach 3)sculpin amber 4)black and olive 5)white there are others I tie some and try like sculpin purple, sculpin wine, white and burnt orange etc but day in and day out those 5 colors produce for me each and every trip and cover about any range of water conditions I think I will face. on the peach, and amber I like an orange head. I used to tie all kinds of off the wall color patterns that looked "cool" but these 5 pretty much cover me in any situation I think I might be in.
ollie Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Your spot on about the "cool" colors. I also don't paint my jig heads which I know a lot of people do. I already have the ginger and olive sculpins tied. White is on my list, but I will have to try the peach one out.
