Members wildminnow Posted March 15, 2007 Members Posted March 15, 2007 was thinking of heading down to the stump hole or udall area Friday night, has anyone had any luck lately? Any word would be appreciated
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Hey Wildminnow. I was down at the 160 bridge in Tecumseh last Friday and the place was loaded with fisherman but no fish. An old timer who I talked to for quite a while said his buddy caught a limit of whites down at Udal earlier last week. Hope this helps. Don't forget a report when you get back. SIO3.
Members The FOG Posted March 20, 2007 Members Posted March 20, 2007 My fishing buddy and I spent last week down at Norfolk. We put in down at Gamaliel off of Hwy 101. We fished Monday thru Thur and caught in the neighborhood of 100 Whites a day. The bad part was they were all small males about 10-12 inches. I did hook a large Striper and got it to the boat but my 4lb test did not do too well. The Crappie are hitting too. We caught several 10-13 inch while fishing for Whites. Pearl/White swiming minnows and Black/Gray small Rattletraps caught most of our fish.
Members wildminnow Posted March 20, 2007 Author Members Posted March 20, 2007 Well we decided to go ahead and go friday night even with the cool temperatures, put in at the stump hole and went down toward udall fished for a couple of hours, caught two small male whites and one small largemouth, not many people out fishing.
Mark Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 We have a group heading down in about a week. Any suggestions would help. None of us have fished the Norfolk Lake before. Hoping the crappie are biting, but none of us have any idea on how to catch stripers. Help out some first timers. Baits? Depth? Areas of the lake? What to look for?
Members Airevac1 Posted March 29, 2007 Members Posted March 29, 2007 Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know what the locals are saying. First off, me and a buddy went to udall last weekend trying to find some whites, no luck. I think the cold front drove them in to deeper water, only caught one kentucky. Latest reports on the white bass, is males are up from udall to techumsie bridge. Everyone is hoping the females will move up this weekened or soon after , depending on weather. Had a buddy tell me he had good luck catching crappie this week, below udall on brush piles, showed me pics, was a nice mess of fish. All i got for now, going to try whites again this weekend, will keep you all posted Good luck and tight lines!!
Members wildminnow Posted March 29, 2007 Author Members Posted March 29, 2007 We went down last Saturday morning, and put in at the bridge in tecumseh, made it up to the forks, pretty tricky with a regular prop, fished a couple of hours with no luck, other than a keeper walleye i hooked in a side fin, he came off right at the boat. Went back toward bridge and saw a couple whites caught just below bridge so we anchored up and caught 5 then we ran out of minnows did see one old timer limit out on big males right under the bridge using minnows.
Members walleyehunter Posted April 27, 2007 Members Posted April 27, 2007 Was out a few days last week. Was catching walleye on the main lake points on jigs tiped with nightcrawlers. Not all the points were holding fish, the points that had sharp dropoff to deep water were key not the sloping transition bottem's to deep water.
